LAHORE, MARCH 29, 2013: The Ghani Welfare Foundation (GWF) has admitted 30 needy children this year to nursery class for their charity school at Shahadara
As per detail, students were selected after an admission test and an interview.
The new batch of students will be joining school from April 1st, 2013.
According to GWF President Usman Ali, “We received 70 applications for admissions. Out of them, 30 most deserving children were selected after thorough consideration.”
Usman also told that admissions were granted based on a number of factors including child’s household income, number of siblings and those siblings going to school.
“When granting admissions, the interest of the children and their parents to avail the opportunity was also taken into consideration”, said Usman.
Two seats were reserved for minorities this year to show support for their equal rights.
Expressing satisfaction over the selection process, Mr. Usman said, “All the selected children deserve to be admitted to our school. I am really happy and satisfied that we are giving them a chance to acquire quality education.”
It is to be noted that students enrolled at the school will be taught Oxford books. They will be provided free education, free stationery, free books and free meals.
Ghani Welfare Foundation has been running a Welfare school named Ghani Grammar School from 2011. At the moment, nearly 80 students from poor backgrounds receive free education at their school.
